Patagonia

From the Great Lakes region flanking the Andes in Chile and Argentina, the mountains take on a dimension that commands respect and humility. As its inhabitants say, "In Patagonia, those who are in a hurry waste their time!" Between the vast expanses covered in dense forests, the deserts bordering the Andes on the Argentinian side, and the labyrinthine archipelago that forms the transition between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean on the Chilean side, the men and women who have come to settle in this immense territory have chosen to live somewhat apart from the world, surrounded by an imposing and largely unspoiled natural environment.
