Trekking in lodges in Peru
A 15-day trek in the region with two lodge-based treks around Cusco. The first offers a wonderful experience on the Salkantay Trek route, leading to Machu Picchu in comfort. The second is a magnificent high-altitude experience near Ausangate, with a mountain lodge at each stage, on a route that passes through the Red Valley and the Rainbow Mountain. A comfortable immersion into the diverse landscapes of the southern Peruvian Andes, between the region's two great glacial peaks, Salkantay and Ausangate.
Crossing Ausangate Carabaya and Ascent of Chachani
After visiting the great Inca sites, traversing the vast landscapes of the Ausangate-Carabaya mountain range is truly breathtaking. The great Cascaracocha valley at the foot of the "nevados" (mountain peaks) that separate it from the slopes leading to the great Amazon rainforest is like another world and one of the most majestic territories in the Andes. After a rest in secluded spots on Lake Titicaca, we set off directly for the ascent of the Chachani volcano, which rises to 6,000 meters above Arequipa, marking the end of this journey.
Ausangate High Route
Ausangate is a mythical mountain, the highest in the entire Cusco region and even in southern Peru. We have explored it extensively for years and created a trekking route that is undoubtedly the most beautiful in this vast area between Carabaya, Quelcaya, and Ausangate. The Qoylluritiy pilgrimage, the largest indigenous pilgrimage in the Americas, and the annual ceremonies and restoration work on the only Inca suspension bridge made of woven straw, Qeswachaka, are also highlights.
